Hello All,

We have installed the Pragma Fortress SSH on our windows servers and want to allow multiple sources to connect using one user. Is it possible to do so? If yes, can somebody please provide guidance to configure the Server?

Can you please clarify your question a little please? Do you mean you want the same client login id to come from different client machines? If so, there is nothing to do - just login from as many places as your license allows.

You can call our support team at 512-219-7270 if you need further assistance.

I appreciate your response.

Sorry, I did not elaborate my requirement. We will be receiving the files from multiple locations (servers), which means we will have to store multiple public keys and we want to use the same user to facilitate the file transfer.

Is it possible to configure such that all the public keys will be stored in a single directory and the authentication be done using these keys?

I read through the FAQ section but could not understand how to configure for such a requirement. Is there a step by step guide which would prove useful.

Regards,

Purvesh.

Ok so if I understand you correctly, here is your scenario:

- User A is coming from machine A, using public key key-A.pub, but user id "id0000"
- User B is coming from machine B, using public key key-B.pub, but user id "id0000"
- User C is coming from machine C, using public key key-C.pub, but user id "id0000"

So the same user id will be coming in from different locations, using different public key, but same user id. This is perfectly ok with Pragma Fortress server. Here is what you need to do:

- Locate or create a file named "authorized_keys2" in the user's appdata/Roaming/PragmaSSH directory. So by the full path can be c:\users\id0000\appdata\Roaming\PragmaSSH\authorized_keys2. Please note that there is no extension to this file name. Also the location of this file is configurable via Pragma Fortress Server Configuration utility.

- Copy the content of each public key file in this authorized_keys2 file, one key on each line. So the content of authorized_keys2 can be something like:

id-dss AAxx.....
id-rsa BBykokd....
id-rsa CCxyaa....

Something like the above.

On the client side, you need to connect with something like:

sftp -oIdentityFile=ey-A.pub id0000@fortress_server

Hope this helps.

As we mentioned before if your support contract is up to date, you can call us and we can guide you through all the necessary steps and get you up and running.

Thanks, I will call the support line for detailed information. However, I am unable to find the authorized_keys2 file in the %APPDATA%\Roaming\PragmaSSH directory. Do we need to create the file manually (without any extension)?
