Hi Pragma Systems,
I am trying to make an sftp connection from a Kodak (Scan Station 500) scanner.
I am getting the following error message:
sshd log: Bad protocol version identification 'NOOP' from: x.x.x.x.
Please help.
Thank you.

Hi Anonymous123,
Try making sftp connections to Pragma FortressSSH server using different SFTP clients to see whether or not you are able to connect and transfer files. If you are able to make sftp connections using other clients and transfer files successfully, then the connection failure issue is not a server side (FortressSSH) issue.
Please make sure that you have the correct firmware loaded on your scanner device and contact your scanner manufacturer.
FYI, SFTP uses the ssh2 protocol and during initial process of establishing a sftp connection, the client needs to send the following connection string to Pragma FortressSSH server in order to make a connection:
Client version string = SSH-2.0-Pragma FortressSSH 5.0
If the server receives something else (like a NOOP message), it exits the connection process. Hope this helps.
Thank you,
