Hi Pragma Systems,

I would like to run Unix commands on Windows server after making an ssh connection via Pragma FortressSSH. Do you support this functionality?

Thank you.

Hi Anonymous123,

In order to run Unix command on a Windows server via Pragma FortressSSH, you need to first install cygwin and then configure Pragma FortressSSH to use either the bash shell or the korn shell.

Launch "Local Server Configuration" dialog from the Windows Start menu > Pragma Server Management and select the default user or any other user that you would like to configure to use bsh or ksh. Expand the user tree and click on Console Settings.  In the field labeled "Shell/Custom Program", enter the path to the bash.exe or ksh.exe and click on the Apply button.

Now, you should be able to ssh in from an Unix machine to a Windows machine running Pragma FortressSSH and execute Unix commands.

Hope this helps.

Thank you,
