Hello,

This error can also occur if you have modified the Service Logon Properties under the InetD -> TelnetServer service using the Local Server Configuration program.

Please open the Local Server Configuration program, click on InetD -> TelnetServer -> Service Logon button. Make sure that all fields are empty or that the configured user has "Log on as service" rights under the operating system.

Hi James,

The "required privilege error" is occurs due to running the Pragma InetD service with an account other than the Local System account. Pragma InetD service MUST run using the Local System account.

To fix this issue, go to Services under Windows Computer Management. Locate Pragma InetD in the services list and click to select its Properties option. Click on the Log-on tab. Select Local System account for the "Log on as" option.

Hope this helps.

Hello,

I installed your TelnetServer software on  a Windows 2008 R2 box and made several configuration changes.  However, I cannot seem to connect. I looked in the Event Viewer (Application Event Log) and found error messages that show: a required privilege not held by the client. What does this mean? Please help.

Cheers,
James
